A 50-paise coin brings disaster to the town

Author Subject: A 50-paise coin brings disaster to the town

I was visiting a temple last week. They have more than 50 elephants serving the god in that temple. Once a year, there is a festival when all of the elephants are decorated and carried in a procession. Rest of the year they stand around the temple for the visitors to see. A child offered a coin to an elephant named "Lakhmisha". The elephant sucked in the coin through its trunk. The coin got stuck in the truck causing the elephant to sneeze. Even after a number of sneezes the coin stayed put in the trunk. The elephant got so irritated that it escaped from its stable, ran around the temple straight into the town. There it flattened a couple of cars, 4 autorickshaws (a 3-wheel vehicle) and wrecked a few shops and injured people. Luckily no one was seriously injured. The mahout was running behind the elephant all the time. Eventually they managed to get hold of the elephant. A vet promptly injected an anesthetic and removed the coin using a pipe. The elephant was calm again and people prayed to it as usual!
