NRIs according to Bollywood

Author Subject: NRIs according to Bollywood

Nowadays many bollywood films are centered around NRIs. I sa a couple of films in which the NRI is a hero. I must say, according to bollywood, there are only two types of nRIs- those who have completely forgotten India to be westernized and those who can not fit it into their country of residence and long for anything Indian! But most of the people I have come across are a mixture of both! Also, like bollywood never bothered to portray the poor in India, is not worried about the thousands of taxi drivers, newspaper sellers who are NRIs. Why are NRIs supporting such films? Aren't we supposed to be more "cultured"?

Who says NRIs are supporting these film? Indians who are curious to know how life is outside India, are watching such films. Think of this, every family has someone in the middle east or usa and uk. But they don't want to ask the relatives about their lives abroad (nor are the NRIs willing to tell the hardships and loneliness). So, these movies are providing the fodder.

NRIs may buy DVDs but they are also buying DVDs of movies unrelated to NRIs.
